Power-over-Ethernet Switches
Lantronix’s Power-over-Ethernet switch (PoE switch) family delivers data packets and DC power over the same copper cable, making the deployment of VoIP phones, Wi-Fi access points, security cameras, IoT device options and other systems much simpler. The PoE standard utilizes both power sourcing equipment (PSE) and powered devices (PDs) to create a complete system for transmitting and delivering Power over Ethernet. PoE switches are the leading type of PSE and are considered end-span PSEs; whereas a mid-span PSE devices can be placed between a non-PoE switch and the PD in retrofit applications. PoE switches must meet either the IEEE 802.3af standard (supplying 15.4 Watts in order to deliver 12.95 Watts to the end device), the IEEE 802.3at PoE+ standard (supplying 30 Watts in order to deliver 25.50 Watts to the end device) or the IEEE 802.3bt standard (supplying up to 90Watts in order to deliver 71.3 Watts to the end device).
Lantronix’s PoE switch family supports the latest PoE standards and are the ideal PSE for any network. Lantronix offers both Enterprise PoE switches and Hardened PoE switches, PoE can be delivered to the edge of networks either within buildings or outdoors, precisely where it’s needed. The Lantronix PoE switch family also offers managed or unmanaged versions to best fit your application. Auto Power Reset is also a valuable feature found in Lantronix PoE switches, which automatically powers cycles and reboots unresponsive connected powered devices, saving the expense of sending a technician to the site for simple power reboots.
